The two-day, intensive instructor-led Advanced Apache Tomcat Administration course, is designed as a follow up course to the Apache Tomcat Fundamentals.The course is taught by one of the core developers of Apache Tomcat, focused on advanced Tomcat 5.5 and 6.0 configurations, tuning and troubleshooting.
Attendees are expected to have a good understanding of the Apache Tomcat fundamentals.
The curriculum is focused on advanced Apache Tomcat configuration, tuning and troubleshooting, including advanced tuning of Apache Tomcat, the Java Virtual Machine, whether to apply load balancing or not, and how to maximize the performance and stability of Apache Tomcat in production environments.
Troubleshooting is targeted to administrators working in production environments, and the course outlines how to perform the correct steps during the troubleshooting phase. The course will demonstrate this with real world examples from production issues, and how to take corrective action.
The course also includes integration points within Apache Tomcat, including the different types of Web Server connectors, with and without load balancing.
The course also outlines the core of the Apache Tomcat architecture, how to compile and patch your own installation, and how to write your own Tomcat components.
The interactive course is geared towards Systems Administrators interested in advanced tuning and troubleshooting their Web infrastructure, System Integrators/Release Engineers deploying Tomcat in a heterogeneous enterprise environment and Developers developing with Tomcat against a variety of computing backend systems.
