We've known about WinRT and Metro-style for a while, but what impact will it have on jobbing .NET developers? In the first half of this talk, Matthew Baxter-Reynolds will bring you up to speed on the Windows 8/Windows RT technical story, looping in Windows Phone 7, Windows Phone 8, and Silverlight so that you'll emerge with a baseline understanding of how these technologies will play out over the next 18-24 months. In the second half, you'll look at how touch-centric computing will eek out WIMP computing in the enterprise, and how you can act on top of your game by rolling in new world features to old school LOB apps without disruption or distraction.
