We are running First annual Agile Testing and BDD eXchange in New York today. We'll be uploading presentations on these pages as and when they become available. So even if you are not here today, check out these pages to find out about the Solid Principles of Test Design in Uncle Bob Martin's keynote, learn from Gojko Adzic, how he uses Impact Mapping as a tool to deliver business value, find out how you can engage in structured conversations to explore, evaluate and confirm product needs with Ellen Gottesdiener, and join Cirilo Wortel & Arjan Molenaar for a talk on how to involve business people with Fitnesse...

Badrinath Janakiraman will give a talk about how to build a maintainable Acceptance Test suite, followed by David Chelimsky, who will talk about Behaviour Driven Objects and how to make testing about behavior at all levels.

We finish with some drinks so we can all discuss what we learned and share our experience from 4pm today in the Ace Hotel Lobby & Bar, you can always join us if you like..

9:00-10:00     THE SOLID PRINCIPLES OF TEST DESIGN
Uncle Bob (Robert C. Martin)Uncle Bob (Robert C. Martin): When did we forget that tests were software? When did we decide that tests didn't need to follow the rules of software design? The fact is that the tests we write are *part* of our software system, and are subject to all the same rules that our other software modules are subject too. View the podcast here...

 10:00-10:15     COFFEE, TEA & REFRESHMENTS
The Agile Testing and BDD eXchanges break for tea, coffee and refreshments.

 10:15 - 11:00     MAKE IMPACT, NOT SOFTWARE
Gojko AdzicGojko Adzic: There has to be a better way to deliver! Gojko presents a possible solution, impact mapping, an innovative strategic planning method that can help you make an impact with software. View the podcast here...

 11:00 - 11:15     COFFEE, TEA & REFRESHMENTS
The Agile Testing and BDD eXchange breaks for coffee, tea and refreshments

11:15 - 12:00     EXPLORE, EVALUATE, & CONFIRM PRODUCT NEEDS WITH STRUCTURED CONVERSATIONS
Ellen Gottesdiener Ellen Gottesdiener : Hear about essential practices you can use in your daily work that blend value‐based decision‐making, a testing mindset, and disciplined analysis. You will see how front‐loading verification and validation when discovering product needs fuels collaboration, saves development time and is instrumental to delivering a high quality product.  12:00 - 12:45     LUNCH
The Agile Testing and BDD eXchange break for lunch.

 12:45 - 13:30     BUSINESS VALUE: IT’S A CONVERSATION, NOT A NUMBER
Kent McDonaldKent McDonald: Teams often talk a great deal about how projects need to deliver “business value”, but what does that really mean? The true use of business value in projects is to determine what to deliver and in what order. Teams may try to quantify their business value but that activity may be entirely unnecessary. View the podcast here...

13:30-14:15     MAKING FITNESSE ACCESSIBLE TO HUMANS
Cirilo WortelArjan MolenaarCirilo Wortel & Arjan Molenaar: Working in Agile software development just demands that you automate your work and have all stakeholders involved, including business analists and functional testers. Once you start working with people that have little or no experience with test automation it becomes painfully clear that collaborative test-automation tools with an intuitive feel to it are practically non-existent.  14:15-14:30     COFFEE, TEA & REFRESHMENTS

14:30-15:15     BUILDING A MAINTAINABLE ACCEPTANCE TEST SUITE
Badrinath JanakiramanBadrinath Janakiraman: With TDD/BDD becoming steadily more popular over the past decade, writing tests, as an activity, has gained a significant body of knowledge behind it. Patterns of writing good automated tests are well documented and are a subject of active discussion and healthy debate. View the podcast here...

 15:15-16:00     BEHAVIOR DRIVEN OBJECTS
David ChelimskyDavid Chelimsky: One of the original ideas behind BDD was that testing should be about behavior at all levels. Effectively, all automated tests can be viewed as "functional tests" of entry points, be they user facing or internal, crossing procedural boundaries or not. In this talk we'll explore approaches to focusing on the behavior of objects, using language that also serves to document the expected behavior in ways useful to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.  16:00-LATE     BEER IN THE BAR
Continue the conversation with fellow attendees and speakers in the snazzy Ace Hotel bar.
