HTML5 introduces Web Sockets—a full-duplex, bidirectional communications channel that operates over a single socket—allowing you to do all kinds of incredible things from your web applications. For example, you can communicate with any TCP-based back-end service (Stomp, JMS, Jabber, XMPP, and so on), which enables developers to code directly against back-end services.
In this ITB session, Peter will show you how you can use the WebSocket protocol from JavaScript and extend it to create a JavaScript stock ticker application that communicates directly with a back-end message broker. In the process Peter will demonstrate the powerful simplicity of HTML5 WebSocket API programming and when done you will see real-time TCP-based back-end service communication using HTML5 Web Sockets in action.
The event will be in English
Peter will be teaching our HTML 5 Communication course on the 7th of December in Paris!
