NOSQL EXCHANGE 2011 02-11-11

Running over one packed day on Nov 2, Dr Jim Webber has helped to organise this ground breaking NOSQL eXchange, featuring eight speakers, including a keynote from the founder of the Neo4j open source graph database project, Emil Eifrem and a talk from functional language ethusiast Russell Brown on Riak.

Creator of Casbah, the Scala toolkit for MongoDB, and regular speaker at MongoUK events Brendan McAdams is preparing an in-depth presentation on MongoDB.

After a lunch break where delegates can share their ideas and thoughts, as well as getting the chance to chat to the speakers, Dave Gardner will kick off the afternoon's talks with a presentation on why you would want to use Cassandra focusing on a real-life use case, and explaining each Cassandra feature within this context, swiftly followed by Ian Robinson -- co-author of REST in Practice and Director of Customer Success for Neo Technology -- on Neo4j

Helping to finish the day's formal presentations with an end user's perspective comes Aleksa Vukotic -- author of Apache Tomcat 7 and Pro Spring 3 -- with a talk on CouchDB, and with a talk on Polyglot Persistence comes Robert Rees -- CTO of Idea management startup Wazoku -- on the theory of mixing your stores and the practical experience.

To round off the eXchange, we'll run a parkbench panel discussion where all our experts come together with the community to learn, innovate and share their NOSQL skills and knowledge.

As a very special guest, Tom Wilkie will be giving a whistle-stop tour of developments in NOSQL and Big Data storage, comparing and contrasting new storage engines including LevelDB, RethinkDB, Tokutek and Castle.
