About Steve Loughran
|

Steve Loughran is an expert in building, deploying and testing
distributed computing systems. He works at HP Laboratories, Bristol, on
deploying applications on dynamically allocated datacentre
infrastructure; one of the core applications used, SmartFrog, is open
source. He is a committer on Apache Ant and author of the book Ant in
Action. Recently, Steve has been getting involved in Apache Hadoop; the
filesystem and MapReduce infrastructure being developed in the
open-source community. In Hadoop, he is focusing on service
configuration and management. His other area of interest is testing;
large systems have bigger testing problems, which is why he's been
exploring how to use SmartFrog as a distributed test framework.
