Andy is widely known as a Social Bridgebuilder and speaker, and is a Consulting IT Specialist working for IBM Software Group, based in the UK. His "day job" is as WebSphere Messaging Community Lead and he has spent the past couple of years talking about how the lightweight MQTT protocol can help developers to deliver smaller, smarter systems.
Andy's background is as a hands-on developer, working particularly with WebSphere Message Broker. He also has a special interest in performance and scalability issues, and has worked on a number of major performance benchmarks using IBM WebSphere and DB2 technologies. He regularly speaks at conferences and briefings on various topics ranging from WebSphere to Virtual Worlds to social software.
