David A. Black is a well-known and highly regarded Ruby and Rails programmer, author, conference trainer and speaker at International Ruby on Rails conferences, including Skills Matter's RoR eXchange.
David A. Black is a long-time Ruby and Rails developer, author, trainer, and speaker. He is a co-director of Rubycentral.org, a non-profit corporation devoted to supporting Ruby projects and events including the annual international Ruby and Rails conferences. A contributor to the Ruby standard library and the Rails core, David is also the director of the Ruby and Rails consultancy Ruby Power and Light LLC, based in New Jersey, USA.
Active in the Ruby world since 2000, David has more than a decade of full-time teaching and development experience and is the author of Ruby for Rails: Ruby Techniques for Rails Developers and Professional Ruby Collection: Mongrel, Rails Plugins, Rails Routing, Refactoring to REST, and Rubyisms CD1 (Addison-Wesley Professional Ruby Series) .
He has been interviewed for InfoQ and the Rails Podcast; has co-organized numerous Ruby/Rails conferences; and has spoken at conferences and Ruby/Rails users groups in the United States, Canada, and England.
