About Tom Armitage
Tom Armitage describes the majority of what he does as “making interesting things on the web”. That “making” takes several forms: from high-level product design, through information design and architecture to the code itself. Making is very important to Tom: "much as I love the thought processes behind research and product-design, I hope that there will always be the chance to calcify those ideas into something that does something. I’m not a big fan of drawing pictures of websites", he says on his personal blog Infovore.

Tom has a particular interest in social software and the modern web, and is also interested in the broader, more abstract issues emerging within technology right now. He has spoken at a few conferences, once or twice about code, more often about less concrete things and has been engaged in various consultational roles on a variety of projects.
