Student Podcaster Opportunity

We are currently looking to recruit a pool of Computer Science Students to help Skills Matter with the filiming and podcasting of our free evening sessions on bleeding edge technologies in Open Source and Agile development, at Skills Matter in Clerkenwell.

We Need:
We are looking for enthusiastic students that have an interest in Skills Matter's technology space. They would need to choose one technology area that they are particularly interested in or passionate about from the following:

• Java and JEE
• Ajax and RIA
• Agile and Scrum
• SOA and Rest
• Erlang
• Ruby on Rails
• Open Source .Net
• Apache and Tomcat
• Cloud and Grid

You would be required to:

• Attend free evening events scheduled within their chosen technology space (likely to be around once or twice per month). All events are held in Clerkenwell, either at Skills Matter's Sekforde Street office or within 2 minutes walk of our office.
• 'Meet and Greet' delegates from 18:00-18:30 (events can attract an audience of between 20-200 depending on the topic and speaker)
• Film the event - held from 18:30. Events usually finish at approximately 20:30.
• Help to clear away equipment including video camera, signage etc. If you wish, you can accompany the delegates to the local pub for discussion and drinks
• The next day you should write an overview / news article on the event, and on what was covered during the session (4-5 paragraphs only) and, within 48 hours, download, edit and upload the podcast to Skills Matter's website.

We Offer:
In exchange Skills Matter offers the following package:

• Full training will be given in all aspects of the role including how to podcast events
• The student will receive a voucher to exchange for a free drink at the pub after the event
• Once the podcast has been uploaded, the article has been completed and both have been accepted by Skills Matter for publication, you will receive £50.
• For each 12 accepted podcasts + articles, you will receive a voucher to attend one (1) day's worth of a Skills Matter course on Open Source Technology or Agile Software development, absolutely free!*

This is a great opportunity for technology students to attend free evening seminars on bleeding edge technologies and methods, delivered by industry experts, and gain the latest ideas and knowledge within the open source and agile communities. It is also a good chance to network and make acquaintances with other like-minded members of the development community.
