MuleSource is the leading provider of open source service-oriented architecture (SOA) infrastructure software. Founded by the creators of the Mule project, the world's most reliable and widely used open source enterprise service bus (ESB) and integration platform, MuleSource delivers enterprise class software, support and services to the thousands of organizations that have downloaded the open source project worldwide.
The open source Mule project was founded in 2003 by Ross Mason, CTO of MuleSource Inc. Frustrated by integration "donkey work" Mason set out to create a new platform that emphasized ease of development and re-use of components. He started the Mule project to bring a modern approach, one of assembly, rather than repetitive coding, to developers worldwide.
MuleSource is the sole owner of the Mule source code and the Mule trademark. The company is privately held and without debt, and it is financed by venture capital since July 2006.

Ricston is MuleSource's training services provider partner, and is responsible for accreditation of other MuleSource training partners.
MuleSource, Ricston and Skills Matter
Skills Matter, MuleSource and Ricston work in close partnership in the UK, to provide SOA, Mule and ESB related training courses, Skills Matter eXchanges and Skills Matter In-the-Brain sessions, to support the Open Source and Mule community in the UK.
