In The Brain of Julian Everett: A Surfer's Guide to User Story Prioritisation
A Surfer's Guide to User Story Prioritisation
In this talk Julian Everett will explore complex systems risk management from the perspective of evolutionary biology. By viewing the parallels between software product development and other areas of speculative investment activity, he hopes firstly to highlight some problems with the standard approaches to project prioritisation.

Julian will then give a brief overview of the nature of complexity science as it applies to market environments before describing how natural selection can be seen as a risk management integrator for complex systems.

By treating “MMF as meme” Julian will propose a very simple way in which some principles from evolutionary biology can be applied within the context of real options, to enable a more rigorous and effective way of deciding what work we should focus on and when.

Following the presentation will be an Open Space session where attendees can suggest topics, and those with the highest votes get discussed in break out sessions.

The session will run from 6pm-9pm at BBC Worldwide's Media Centre in West London.

This is likely to be a very popular session so get your skates on and book early as places are limited!
