At this event, around 10 Tech Companies will pitch their coding projects in a series of 5-minute lightning sessions to software developers looking for interesting, agile projects using progressive technologies.
OVERVIEW
MG-ALFA—as an organization within Milliman, one of the world’s largest independent actuarial and consulting firms—has been providing the market-leading life insurance modelling tool in the United States for more than a decade. We are passionate about the work we do and have built a reputation on the high quality of our software, our delivery and client satisfaction. With recent inroads into the European market, we are looking to expand our development presence with a fulltime team in London.
This is a unique opportunity to join our innovative and high-performing team tackling an exciting, high-potential grid computing service. We are seeking candidates who crave working in an entrepreneurial environment both independently and in a team, are comfortable embracing ambiguity and risk, have a zest for innovation and new ideas, and have a solid track record of delivering on challenging commitments.
ABOUT MILLIMAN
Milliman is among the world's largest independent actuarial and consulting firms, with revenues of $676 million in 2010. Founded in Seattle in 1947, we currently have 56 offices in key locations worldwide. Our staff of 2,500 people includes more than 1,300 qualified consultants and actuaries. We are owned and managed by approximately 350 principals—senior consultants whose selection is based on their technical, professional and business achievements.
Job responsibilities
- Participate in driving and crafting new features and functionality for commercial product
- Championing the product both internally and externally to clients within the actuarial space
- Ensure systems are highly scalable and highly resilient
- Become a technical point of contact for and maintain strong relationships with customers
Qualifications
- Significant and current development experience in C# .NET with solid software
- engineering/programming skills
- Experience of full software development life cycle (we are committed to Agile methods)
- High awareness of good customer service practice
Additional skills and experience
- eXtreme Programming (XP)
- TDD/BDD
