Open Source .NET eXchange: Gojko Adzic on Welcome to the OpenSource.NET eXchange
Welcome to the OpenSource.NET eXchange
Co-organiser & Trackhost Gojko Adzic will introduce this mini-conference on OpenSource .NET technologies, aimed at members of the .NET community talking about their favourite OpenSource .NET tools that increase programmer productivity and help us do our work better.
Gojko Adzic briefly introduces all of the speakers and talks from tonight with a special thanks to Skills Matter for hosting the event. Gojko also gives a quick history of 2008 in the OpenSource.Net arena, how the year started with hardly any form of a community but through the events hosted by Skills Matter there have been over 1100 people attending events. Also with over 150 people in attendance the event itself really shows how far the idea of OpenSource and .NET has come in a year. Gojko then describes what they are hoping for 2009 with a comic reference to Hugh Hefner, "More of the same". He hopes that there will be more events and leaves the floor open if you have an idea for a talk you would like to hear or even speak on. There is also a mention of the aim to have some professional training to help get over the learning barrier of open source tools. One other thing mentioned that you might like to check out are the ukdotnet events website (http://ukdotnet.ning.com)
