November Groovy Code Jam
It's time for another code jam! Come along to exercise those Groovy & Grails muscles in a collaborative environment and with some solid expertise from the community on hand. If you're going to Groovy & Grails Exchange 2011, even better because you can start a project here and continue it at the hackergarten evening there.
Potential projects:
- Improvements to the git plugin and integrating it into the Release plugin
- Developing a simpler, convention-based Grails logging configuration DSL not based on packages
- Any work on the grails.org application, in particular trying out functional testing with Geb

Hans Dockter's Core Gradle
In this intensive and highly practical 3-day Gradle course, you will become familiar with all major concepts of Gradle and how to best use Gradle for simple as well as complex build scenarios. This course is packed with hands-on exercises. You will learn about the basic language elements of the Gradle Domain Specific Language (DSL), how to use Gradle's build-by-convention for plain Java and Java web projects, and how to use the Gradle plugin system.
