Groovy & Grails eXchange 2011: Guillaume LaForge on KEYNOTE - Groovy Update
KEYNOTE - Groovy Update
The latest major version of Groovy was released some months ago, so it's time to have a closer look at what's inside!

With the latest betas of the next major version available, we'll go through all the novelties that are coming. Guillaume will talk about improved Domain-Specific Language capabilities (thanks to the command chain expressions) and the continued runtime performance improvement to make Groovy the fastest dynamic language around.

He'll explain how more functional closures have been added in this release and gives an overview of the built-in JSON support and important AST transformations, added to remove even more boilerplate code from your code bases.

We'll finish with improvements to the syntax, improved and secured Groovy integration in your Java apps, and new features in the next major version of Groovy, such as static type checking feature.
