Hadoop Panel Discussion
Billed as a panel discussion, but this is more a conversation among the speakers and attendees. Arguably the most interesting of the scheduled sessions. This covers a wide range of topics:

How to migrate an existing team and infrastructure to Hadoop
MapReduce algorithms, a lack of knowledge exchange
Common hardware and networking setups, DNS problems, ...
The difficulty of testing and monitoring distributed applications
Reinventing the wheel (the canonical example of the day was data joins) - etc.

ABOUT THE HADOOP USER GROUP UK

We are the Hadoop users group for the UK based in London. We meet monthly for talks and discussion on all topics related to Hadoop. Join if your intrested in learning what Hadoop is, how people are using it with their big data problems, and to meet other people with experience running and coding on Hadoop cluster around London and the UK.
