Open Source in Finance eXchange: Alex McGuire on Scala, A better language for finance?!
Scala, A better language for finance?!
Alex has built systems in a wide range of languages - however for the past two years he has coded almost exclusively in Scala, a language that combines functional and OO features, runs on the JVM and interoperates seamlessly with Java. He makes the case that Scala should be a serious contender for any development where C++ or Java might have been considered.
