DiscoBot: Groovy on Android
In 2009, Hjalmar Ekengren started the Discobot project. The goal of the discobot project was to run Groovy on Android. This project, while quite far
in it's development, was never finished. So in 2011, after finishing their efforts on the Grails Fitnesse Plugin, Marcin and Erik decided to take on
the project and provide a smooth experience to developers interested in developing Groovy sotware on Android phones.
In this session, Marcin Erdmann and Erik Pragt will cover the development of a Groovy application on Android, and will provide some interesting
background information on what was done to made this possible. We will
explain how to get started using the project, how an initial project can be
created, and how the project can run on the emulator and phone. After that,
we will provide a glimpse of our plans for the future of the Discobot project!
