London Spring User Group:October meetup
October meetup
Mark Brewer (Senior Vice President and GM of Enterprise Delivery at SpringSource) is generously providing his time to be our guest speaker on Wednesday 9 September. Mark is part of Rod Johnson’s senior management team at SpringSource in USA. This event was postponed form September due to the timing of the VMWare take-over.
There has been a lot of gossip about the extent of VMWare's commitment to open source and whether this marks the end of SpringSource as we know it - Mark Brewer will discuss all in what is certain to be the best event of the year so far. The forums are buzzing about this subject and expect a very different sort of meeting to our usual events.
Mark was the CEO of Covalent; the leading provider of products and services for Apache Software Foundation (ASF) open source projects, when SpringSource purchased his company in 2008. Plus a former Covalent spin-off company called Hyperic was recently purchased by SpringSource.
This is a rare opportunity to meet a very senior figure with enormous insight on the world of open source technology and it will be fascinating to hear him discuss the future of SpringSource, the companies it recently purchased and the future for the key projects that you are using right now.
