Eclipse DemoCamp 2009: Paul Gibbons on Generic Data Acquisition
Generic Data Acquisition
The GDA Project was initiated to build an extensible data acquisition toolkit which would allow easy plug-and-play construction of data acquisition software systems for, in the first instance, SR sources. GDA software is now in day-to-day use on several SRS stations.
This software originally used a Swing GUI, the team at Diamond Light Source redeveloped the application on eclipse rich client platform. This has led to development of many plugins for performing experiments and analysing results and incorporates the use of third party plugins such as PyDev and Control System Studio.
In this session, Paul Gibbons discusses issues about PDE build target development, automated building and testing and also demonstrates how the generic data acquisition (GDA) works.
