Grails eXchange 2007: Scott Hickey on Groovy Success Story at Fortune 500 Insurance Company
Groovy Success Story at Fortune 500 Insurance Company
Groovy 1.0 is available and you're considering Groovy for your next project. You search the web for more information and read all kinds of conflicting information. It's hard to distinguish FUD from fact. In this session, Scott broke through the hypothetical and discussed everything you want to know about using Groovy on a Java project. The information in this presentation is based upon two years of actual experience using Groovy as part of a large J2EE project at a Fortune 500 company. During this presentation, Scott covered compiling Groovy in Ant build scripts, test driven development for Groovy classes, and code coverage for Groovy classes. Decision points for incorporating Groovy into a real business project and strategies for mitigating risk, were also covered. Scott also reviewed code examples using Spring, Groovy collections, and Groovy decimal math.
