April's Java Web User Group was held at Skills Matter and featured Brian Oliver, Data Grid Solutions Architect at Tangosol (now Oracle). At this talk, Brian challenged challenged the Service Oriented Paradigm and explained how a Data Grid Oriented Architecture may save your next vacation!
Through the use of concrete trading and financial systems examples, Brain introduced and defined the concept of Data Grid Oriented Architectures, that demonstratably reduce the production and operational challenges of achieving high-availability and scalability while at the same time simplifying development and deployment - beyond that of a service oriented approach. Brain concluded with a demo highlighting how Data Grid solution based on Tangosol Coherence continues to provide Data and Services to an enterprise even under the toughest conditions without user intervention.
