Rich User Interfaces in Swing
Java’s Swing GUI toolkit has come a long way since its inception and is not only a great way to build cross-platform, future-proof applications — it also enables you to capitalise on your core Java skills and presents a cost-effective alternative to building native applications. If you haven’t looked at Swing before, or haven’t seen what is possible lately, then this talk will bring you bang up to date by describing how to rapidly develop professional-looking interfaces in Java. A large proportion of application development effort is usually invested in the user-interface, so your time at this presentation is sure to be well spent!

ABOUT SIMON WHITE
Simon holds a PhD in Applied Artificial Intelligence and is specialised in GUI development with SWING. Simon has published both mainstream software engineering articles and academic papers.
