In this three hour session you'll learn the fundamentals of how to approach your Metro-style development projects. We assume knowledge of .NET in enterprise environments, but little else. You'll start by learning what WinRT is and where it fits in Microsoft's long-term development tool strategy.

You'll then see how to move from .NET, learning important lessons about asynchronous programming, sandboxing and protection - i.e. the sorts of things you an and can't do. You'll be looking to use some elements of TDD, which is next.

We'll then look at new Metro-style features including contracts and extensions, as well as application lifetime, identity, and packaging and deployment. The session will end with a Q&A session during which you can bring along any questions you like.
