Grails eXchange 2007: Guillaume LaForge on Domain Specific Languages - DSLs
Domain Specific Languages - DSLs
As proclaimed recently by InfoQ, Domain-Specific Languages are an architectural hot-spot. With dynamic languages like Groovy, it is easy to create a mini-language modelling a particular business domain, providing syntactical constructs close to the associated business concepts.
Groovy offers a great deal of flexibility through its dynamic nature and in terms of concise and expressive syntax. After an introduction to the concept of DSL and its motivation, Guillaume LaForge talks about the advanced Groovy concepts that will help you create your own embedded DSL, and showed how to integrate them in your JEE application.
