London Android User Group:Android, An Introductory Workshop
Android, An Introductory Workshop
During the last meeting, we discuss the high level principles which makes Android a unique platform. Understanding the internals of android is important in order to create seamless and integrable applications. During the next session, we will go through tutorial examples and show how to easily create an Android application - from the first line of code to testing your app and integrating it to the system. In this session, through code examples, you will learn the following:
1. AndroidManifest - where all is defined
2. ContentProviders - Android's data sharing mechanism
3. Activity, Intent and BroadcastReceiver - the meat of your application
4. Services and background processes
Before the session, it is preferable (but not necessary) to have the Android's SDK set up and the tutorial code downloaded:

Finally we will showcase some applications and discuss future projects.
