Clojure eXchange 2012: Nick Rothwell on Building Musical Performance Systems in Clojure
Building Musical Performance Systems in Clojure
A presentation of some tools written in Clojure for making music software (conventional products like Ableton Live, or live coding environments like Overtone) more amenable to live performance: a dynamic layer-based rendering library for the monome and arc control surfaces (shado) and a DSL-based generator and loader of multitouch interface templates for the Lemur (sifaka). If there's (development) time we can also outline the design of a networked "social looper" audio plugin for Ableton Live, built with MaxMSP, Clojure and Noir.
