Practical Scalaz: making your life easier the hard way
Where previous talks have concentrated on the fundamentals and construction of the scalaz (http://code.google.com/p/scalaz/ ) library, this talk will be different. This evening, Chris Marshall (one of only four scala gold-badged users on StackOverflow) concentrates on using Scalaz to help make certain tasks easier and to avoid repeating yourself. We will see practical uses of endomorphisms, monoids, applicative functors and realize that they are the sort of thing we use every day, whether we know what to call them or not. The focus will be on using the library, not understanding its internals!
