ScalaX London Party - Thursday 12th December


Did you enjoy the first day of Scala eXchange? It's party time now! Buses will be ready outside the BDC once the conference ends on Thursday 12th December (straight after the last session at 6.30pm) to bring you to CodeNode!


If you prefer the good old London Underground, CodeNode is a five-minute walk from Moorgate Tube Station, which is just two stops from Angel (the closest station to the BDC, where Scala eXchange takes place), and it's served by the Northern Line.

You can come along from the conference or meet us at CodeNode for an evening of good music, games, food and drinks – a chance to share your ideas with each other in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. We look forward to having you with us!

Keynote: Kikia Carter

Kikia Carter

Kikia has a passion for leading enterprise transformations, creating innovative solutions using emerging technologies to modernize heritage environments. She finds a certain joy developing large scale distributed systems using Reactive Principles, especially when building with Lightbend Reactive Platform - Akka and friends. She has slight Scala bias, but at least half of her time is spent with Java. Skills Matter is proud and happy to share our Scala eXchange Scholarship Plan which provides support to those from traditionally underrepresented and/or marginalized groups in the technology and/or open source communities who may not have the opportunity to attend Scala eXchange for various reasons.

Scholarships are awarded based on a combination of need and impact. Scholarship recipients will receive a complimentary ticket to the conference.
