Graduate Community Manager

Be part of our team bringing the UK's biggest community of engineers and developers (130,000+) together to discover, learn and adopt the latest technologies, practices and ideas in software engineering.

We host more than 2000 events every year, from community meet-ups, to training events and hackathons. As a community-led organisation, all content and events are created with, and for members.

Located at CodeNode - the UK's largest technology-dedicated venue in the centre of London, near Liverpool Street station and Moorgate. Working hours are Monday to Thursday 12 midday - 9pm and Fridays 9am to 6pm.

Day-to-day activities will include:

● Manage evening community events from liaising with community organisers, publishing content on our website (training given) and managing logistics of multiple events (approx 30 events per week split between two team members).

● Welcome London's most innovative tech companies, including start-ups, software houses and gaming companies to our venue, build relationships and help them to run successful events where people discover new technologies, gain new skills, and attract new talent.

● Engage with members of our community at multiple evening events answering questions about how our community works and what we do.

● Encouraging people who want to organise evening events to come to CodeNode when appropriate (this is not a sales role, hosting events is free) helping them to explore different ways to share knowledge with our community.

● Liaise with internal teams including operations to make sure appropriate arrangements are made depending on numbers of attendees etc..

● On the day the events the Community Manager undertakes a room check to make sure rooms are set up as needed and greet the organiser to make sure they are happy.

Key candidate requirements for the role:

● Great people skills and a clear and confident communicator

● Pro-active event manager with an eye for detail

● A quick thinker and keen problem-solver.

● Strong relationship-building skills.

● Interested in technology.

● Previous social media experience would be an advantage.
