Aurelien is a research scientist at SDL Research, specialising in Machine Translation. He completed his Ph.D at the University of Cambridge under the supervision of Prof. Bill Byrne

Prior to returning to academia, Aurelien worked as a software developer at Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs. He has experience in building large distributed systems in Java and C++.
He is interested in scalable machine learning algorithms that can handle the very large data sets found in Machine Translation.
