Ross joined MongoDB as a Python Software Engineer and since then has moved onto the JVM, first learning and taking over the Casbah the Scala driver and then joining the Java team to help shape the Java driver. In a previous life Ross was a technical architect at Streetlife and a tech lead at Europe's biggest commercial radio owner Global Radio.

There is a new MongoDB driver in town that aims to take its place in the modern world of Scala. Casbah has long been a steward for MongoDB, but for sometime its synchronous ways has shown it's age. So a new asynchronous, reactive and highly extendable driver has been written from scratch.
