Simon is CEO of [ui!] the urban institute, APAC. [ui!] delivers consulting and platforms for smart city applications. Prior to this he was Director of NICTA Queensland, Executive Dean of Science and Technology at Queensland University of Technology, Head of the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at The University of Queensland, and principal scientist of the CRC for Distributed Systems Technology. Simon's research has ranged from understanding how technologies and organisations co-evolve to building collaborative work and distributed systems technology platforms.
