Matt will also discuss some of the trends and directions the lab sees, and how that might affect Db2 in the future.
Matt Huras is the chief architect of DB2 for Linux Unix and Windows. He was a founding member of the development team, more than 20 years ago, and has played a key role in implementing and/or leading many of DB2's marquee capabilities, including it's multi-threading engine, it's prefetching I/O subsystem, compression, pureScale, and several others. He possesses a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Master of Engineering from the University of Toronto. Matt is an IBM Fellow, Master Inventor, member of the IBM Academy, and member of the IDUG Speaker's Hall of Fame.
