Wednesday, 4th April at CodeNode, London

This meetup was organised by London Progressive Web Apps in April 2018

Let's meet again and discuss all the latest PWA news!

6 Myths of Progressive Web Apps

This talk will share some common myths about PWAs, discussing how different browsers recognise what makes a PWA and the extra features you can unlock if your website fulfils their criteria.

Peter O'Shaughnessy

Peter is a developer advocate in Samsung’s web browser team, helping fellow web developers to use up-and-coming web APIs and to make the most of the web platform. Previously he worked in technology R&D at an education company and as a tech lead at a national newspaper and two web development agencies.

Build progressive web apps with Angular

Progressive web apps (PWA) are becoming an industry standard for building web applications. With reliability, speed and immersive user experience in mind, PWAs help you reach a broader audience. In this session we will take an existing web app and convert it into a PWA.

First, we'll make our application installable to homescreen by adding a Web App Manifest json file. Next, we'll focus on making our app reliable by enabling service workers inside our application and caching resources. Throughout this session we'll also learn how to use Lighthouse to test the performance of our PWA.

Simona Cotin

Simona is an enthusiastic full-stack developer with experience in building rich data visualization for network data and more recently in the cloud. Communities power her up and that's why she is co-organising the Javascript London and Angular Dublin meetups.

Open Source, eCommerce PWA based on Vue.js

This talk will focus on a project that achieves to do much more than typical PWA offline caching and make eCommerce fully offline-ready. Vue.js and Progressive Web Apps features to make some eCommerce rocket-science. We'll take a look at problems we faced and how we handled them in VS.

Filip Rakowski

Filipi is the Co-creator & Frontend Technical Leader at Vue Storefront and a Frontend Developer at Divante. Filip has done several presentations at conferences in the past and is enthusiastic about sharing knowledge, cool solutions and new stuff in programming world.
