This Thursday's Matter is ... Accessibility in Flutter. In this special session of Thursday's Matter we'll be joined Lara Martín and Miguel Beltran who will be sharing how you can make your Flutter app accessible to everyone.
Thursday's Matter is a virtual meetup on the topics that truly matter to today's developers. Join us every Thursday when we'll be joined by an expert from around the globe. Each week we'll explore topics such as functional languages, mobile development, agile methodologies and machine learning.
THE FORMAT A 40-minute expert talk followed by a Q&A session
Reaching a larger audience with your apps is not just about targeting as many platforms as possible (mobile, web, desktop) but also about making them accessible for everyone. Native platforms already provide accessibility mechanisms, and thankfully, Flutter does too!
In this talk, you will learn how to prepare your Flutter app for a larger audience. You will learn how to support variable size fonts and prepare your app for screen readers, and how to be sure that your designs are accessible too. As well, we will explore some of the current limitations like keyboard based navigation.
