You’ve been with the business a while, and you’ve been tasked with onboarding some new starters to the team, and they don’t know the codebase or the tool you use. You know that:
You’re familiar with the codebase, well, most of it, but how can you get the new starters to start working with it?
You’ve also been using IntelliJ IDEA for years, and you consider yourself a power user, but how can you get all that information out of your head and into the new starters’ heads as quickly and as efficiently as possible?
As you ponder these two points, you have a flash of inspiration! I know you think - “I’ll give them some bugs to fix...”
In this talk, I’ll cover how to teach IntelliJ IDEA to others that perhaps are less familiar with the tool. New starters and experienced developers want the same thing - to move the needle. So how can we do that with an unfamiliar code base and teach people IntelliJ IDEA at the same time so that everyone wins? Come along to pick up some IntelliJ IDEA tips and tricks for reading, writing code and helping others to get up to speed quickly.
