Introduction to Natural Language Processing in Python

Thursday, 29th September at CodeNode, London

This meetup was organised by The London Python Group in September 2016

Introduction to Natural Language Processing in Python

From tweets to scientific literature, nowadays we have plenty of unstructured text data waiting to be analysed to extract useful insights. In this talk we'll walk through a gentle introduction to the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP), its challenges, its opportunities, and some interesting applications. Thanks to its rich ecosystem, we'll discuss Python as an excellent choice for your next NLP project, showcasing some of the popular Python tools for NLP, like NLTK and gensim.

Some basic knowledge of Python is beneficial but not required.

Marco Bonzanini

Marco a freelance Data Scientist based in London, UK. Backed by a PhD in Information Retrieval. He specialises in search applications and text analytics applications, and enjoys working on a broad range of information management and data science projects. Active in the PyData community, he helps co-organising the PyData London meetup.
