Groovy & Grails: what's all the fuss?

Monday, 21st February at Skills Matter, London

This meetup was organised by GGUG: Groovy & Grails User Group London in February 2011

Groovy and Grails have steadily been gaining traction in the last few years, but what exactly are they and how can they help you? Are you already an experienced G&G user? Please do come along and share your experience!

Groovy & Grails: what's all the fuss?

In this talk, Peter will introduce the language and some of the most significant projects associated with it. The focus will be on the practical real world benefits of adding Groovy and its related projects to your tool chest. If you already are an experienced G&G user, then please do come along and share your experience?!

Peter Ledbrook

Peter is a long time Java developer and one of the core Grails committers. He has been developing with Grails since version 0.2 (give or take 0.1). He created the GWT Grails plugin as an exercise to see whether it was possible, but it has since grown into something that can support serious development.

How LSE has been using Grails

In this talk, Jianfeng Tian will do a case study of four greenfield projects that he has successfully completed at LSE using Grails, the Groovy based web framework.

Jianfeng Tian

Jianfeng Tian is Groovy and Grails developer in the UK. Jianfeng maintains a blog on Groovy, Grails, Java and lots more.
