EF6 has been around for a while and is “battle tested” to quote Rowan Miller from the EF team. EF Core has now been out as an RTM since mid-2016 and EF Core 2.0 has just been released. EF6 developers have a LOT of questions. Should we upgrade? Should you start my new app with EF6 or EF Core? Will EF6 go away? How is EF Core the same? How is it different from EF6? Where’s your EDMX? Julie Lerman has been using EF since before the first version was released and continues to spend a lot of time exploring the new versions to understand how they work and help you speed up your learning curve. In this workshop you will discover the answers to many of the EF6 vs EF Core questions and get a look at EF Core coding to see what feels familiar and what cool things you can do.
