Workshop: Machine Learning For Hackers

11th July 2018 in London at Business Design Centre

There are 70 other SkillsCasts available from FullStack London 2018 - The Conference on JavaScript, Node & Internet of Things

This session was not filmed.

In this workshop, Athan is going to deliberately avoid dry, formal math-heavy presentation and get your hands dirty implementing and using machine learning algorithms, all in JavaScript. You will first learn why JavaScript and the web platform are important new frontiers in the future of machine learning application development. You will then dabble in statistical inference, learning enough of the core principles to make us dangerous. From there, you will learn how to implement some machine learning algorithms from scratch, gaining insight into how the sausage is really made. And finally, you will sample from an assortment of machine learning algorithms, applying them to problems far and wide. By the end of the workshop, you'll be ready to deep dive into the machine learning revolution, knowing where to look and what to look for. No matter what your background, if you're a hacker, this is your workshop.
