It's very common for developers to specialise. You all find that thing you're best at, that you enjoy most and get really good at. It helps though, if you are not limited to your favourite things. Nothing stops progress faster than ""You'll have to wait for the back-end guy to do this part"". Whether you're building something yourself or in a small start-up, the more you can pickup jobs outside of your specific domain, the better. But Diogo is not just talking about back-end vs front-end, but dev-ops and infrastructure too. With tools like Terraform and docker working with AWS primitives like lambdas, queues and fargate containers, anyone can not only design an entire system, but actually build and deploy it too.
In this talk you will together with Diogo live-code and build a complete system consisting of multiple lambda functions, a queue/topic setup with some other features. You'll ""write"" your infrastructure as code using Terraform and explore some other tools and libraries useful in developing and working with AWS.
For all the participants well being and to smooth the experience this workshop has the following requirements:
A computer with a working version of docker installed
An AWS account ready to use created before the workshop
