While NoSQL in general and MongoDB in specific are gaining massive popularity in dynamic programming languages, many Java developers are rather conservative. They are often too accustomed to their approaches and tools, for example JPA to access relational databases. Morphia is successfully bridging that gap and provides a low entry barrier into MongoDB.
