We like the cloud for all its benefits but we would not like to compromise user experience for our applications if they are transparently hosted elsewhere. There are technologies that allow having the visual representation and user interaction capabilities of desktop applications in the cloud.
For the programmer there is a solution to develop his cloud application just like a desktop app. The session will show how to achieve these goals with the open-source ULC Grails plugin, the Groovy UlcBuilder, and the 100% Java Canoo RIA Suite.
