When we build applications for the browser, we know what the network will do. But are we prepared for the likely scale and difefrent usage patterns of the Internet of Things? We’ll need solid strategies for dealing with network slowdowns, interruptions, and hostile intermediaries (e.g. proxies).
We’ll look at the basic causes of trouble on the network and how they affect our applications. We’ll also look at best practices for building fault-tolerant applications across the network. This talk will equip you to build not just future IoT apps, but better mobile apps today.
