Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) is a collaborative approach to software development that bridges the communication gap between business and IT.
BDD helps teams communicate requirements with more precision, discover defects early and produce software that remains maintainable over time. The BDD approach enhances agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
Aslak will give a brief overview of the history of BDD, and the high level practices. Then Aslak will introduce Gherkin, the plain English syntax for executable specifications. After this he will show how those specifications can be used to guide the development of the business logic for a social network. Aslak will finish off by presenting some sound architectural patterns that also makes BDD easier.
