D3 is a fantastic and expressive way to create visualisations for data journalism, however when it comes to using D3 in a corporate environment there are additional challenges to consider. I will be looking at the barriers which stand in the way of using D3 in industry and demonstrating some of the ways we have tried to overcome these hurdles with our own software.

Commercial Visualisation with D3
John is a developer at AlignAlytics where he has been building charting applications for over a decade using a range of technologies. In recent years he has been a regular user of D3 and has created Dimple.js, a popular open-source charting API based on D3. He is also currently working with D3, Angular and NodeJS to build a data analysis application called Alytic which will be launching soon.
