There are many open source scripts that will spin up an AWS Kubernetes cluster. This is good for kicking the tyres but there are many additional considerations for deployment on AWS, based on production best practice and experience. This talk will focus on a recent migration to Kubernetes for a high-growth startup. The cluster, soon to be in production, was built and developed with best practice security and integration with existing infrastructure (i.e. AWS services) in mind. We’ll summarise the key considerations, how we overcame problems and the lessons learned along the way.
