Finch is a Scala library for building composable HTTP APIs. It provides a thin layer on top of Twitter's lightning fast Finagle library that simplifies and streamlines routing, serialization, and more.
This talk provides a first look at Finch from the perspective of an application developer. Dave will talk about what makes a good composable API and why composition is important. You will also learn how Finch leverages Scala's type system to automate many tasks, allowing developers to concentrate on developing business logic.
No previous experience with Scala or functional programming is required, but an interest in API and library design will be very helpful.
